Time spent at Quinta das Faias

In the first few hours of the morning can collect fresh eggs from our chicken coop and seasonal fruit like apples for your wonderful breakfast. Here you can stroll down the Quinta, enjoying the changes in its trees and their flowers, breathing their different smells and enjoying the view, from the mountain, of the sea and the "Desertas" (uninhabited islands) on the horizon. You may also, if you wish, participate in different agricultural work, including dealing with pets.
In the late afternoon you can read a book outdoors, while listening to the sound of birds and/or enjoy a glass of Portuguese wine while preparing dinner. Before going to bed, if th night is bright, make sure to observe the stars in the sky and the reflection of the moon on the sea.

What to visit

Due to the location of Quinta das Faias, you can quickly reach any point on the island, taking less than one hour by car to reach the more remote location, so there is no need to change the place of stay during your vacation.
As Paradise Valley, settlement where the Quinta, is crossed by two “levadas”, there are 5 different walking tours starting from the Quinta: levada da Serra do Faial, levada dos Tornos and pedestrian path connecting the Camacha to Assomada (levada do Caniço). There are still several emblematic Levada walks that are relatively close, allowing visualization of Laurisilva forests and beautiful sceneries, distinguished by UNESCO as World-Wide Natural Patrimony. In Funchal you will also find many cultural events, museums and shops, plus restaurants of all kinds.
